OPT, which stands for Optional Practical Training, is a temporary work authorization granted by the United States government to international students on an F-1 visa.
This visa is specific to students enrolled in accredited academic programs in the USA. OPT allows these students to gain relevant professional experience in their field of study for up to 12 or 36 months after graduation.
Students can complete their degree with very good international job opportunities. With OPT (Optional Practical Training), you can live and work in the United States for up to 12 or 36 months after graduation. OPT is open to international students who:
Possess a valid F-1 visa.
Be enrolled full-time in an accredited U.S. degree program for at least one year.
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 (or equivalent).
